B. Ed. without course fee. / D. El. Ed. Book your seat now before completing the course for higher secondary/undergraduate /postgraduate level: MRS Edu Guide

1. Eligibility Criteria:

a)   Have you passed higher secondary / undergraduate / postgraduate level with 50% marks (45% in case of ST / SC / PH) or expect to pass with 50% marks (45% in case of ST / SC / PH)?

b)   Are you a permanent resident of North East India?

c)    Is your family income less than four and a half lakhs?

If so, no matter what caste you are, you can get your preferred 2-year B.Ed. / D. El. Ed. from UGC accredited reputed university without any course fee.

2. How is this possible? In fact, an NGO called the Merit Research Society (MRS) will approve a course-based interest-free education loan to cover a 2-year course, excluding the student's own contribution. Students will repay the principal amount of that interest-free education loan in monthly installments and the scholarship money will be withdrawn immediately after it is deposited in their bank account.

a)   In the case of 2 years D. El. Ed. Course : Minimum qualification should be 50% in Higher Secondary (45% in case of ST / SC / ABC / Minority / PH). They have to pay 3,000.00 (three thousand) rupees per month as course fees and the scholarship money will be withdrawn from their bank account.

b)   In the case of 2 years B.Ed. course: Minimum qualification should be 50% (45% in case of ST/SC/PH) at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. They have to pay a course fee of Rs. 3,600.00 (three thousand six hundred) per month and the scholarship money will be withdrawn from their bank account.

3. Target: We have achieved the target for North East India. 250 for B.Ed. + 150 for D. El. Ed. Total 400 students (Arunachal Pradesh 30, Assam 120, Manipur 50, Meghalaya 60, Mizoram 30, Nagaland 30, and Tripura 80).

4. Project Procedure: Candidates must first fill up the "Advance Seat Booking Form" provided at www.mrs-edu.com. There is no charge for filling out the form.

5. Candidate Selection: Candidate Selection Procedure will be conducted on a first come first served basis after fulfilling the eligibility criteria.

6. Registration Fee: The selected candidate has to deposit Rs. 10,000.00 as registration fee in the bank account of MRS (Government Registered Association). And then upload the required documents for admission to the college/university on the portal of MRS.

7. Example: Suppose, the course fee for a 2 year D.EL.Ed. course is Rs.1,00,000.

a)  The score of a general department student is 85 percent. To do this 2-year course he has to pay only Rs. 12,000 (Rs. 10,000 as registration fee + Rs. 3,000 per month as course fee = Rs. 82,000 - Rs. 70,000 as scholarship).

b)  Another student with minimum score of 50% will be required to complete this 2 year course only Rs. 37,000 (Rs. 10,000 as registration fee + Rs. 25,000 as self-contribution course fee + Rs. 3,000 per month as course fee = Rs. 1,07,000 - Rs. 70,000 as Scholarship)

8. Refund Policy: If a candidate cannot be admitted for any reason, the entire amount of Rs.10,000 deposited as registration fee will be returned to the student's bank account.

9. Student Self Contribution: The higher the score, the lower the student self-contribution. The highest score, no self-contribution.

a)   In case of ST, SC and PH:

1)   The self-contribution of the student will be Rs. 0 who has 80% or more marks in higher secondary,

2)   Rs.10,000 for 80%-69.9%,

3)   Rs.15,000 for 60%-69.9%,

4)   Rs. 50,000 for 50%-59.9% and

5)   Rs. 25,000 for 45%-49.9%.

b)   In case of others (excluding ST, SC and PH):

1)   The self-contribution of the student will be Rs. 0 who has 80% or more marks in higher secondary,

2)   Rs.10,000 for 80%-84.9%,

3)   Rs.15,000 for 60%-69.9%,

4)   Rs. 20,000 for 80%-69.9% and

5)   Rs. 25,000 for 50%-59.9%.

10.  Online coaching classes: All courses will be in regular mode. Absolutely free online coaching classes are   available
